Andre Chevalier is one of the most respected basketball coaches and trainers in the greater Los Angeles area. Chevalier has been deeply involved in the San Fernando Valley’s basketball community for more than 25 years. His career began in the late 80’s as a standout point guard at Cleveland High of Reseda. Chevalier earned a basketball scholarship to California State University, Northridge (CSUN) where he set several records including: most points in a career, most assists in a career, most steals in a career, most free throws made in a career and most free throws attempted in a career. His stellar college accomplishments at CSUN led to the basketball MVP award being renamed in his honor: The Andre Chevalier Most Valuable Player Award. In the summer of 2016, he was even inducted into the CSUN Athletics Department Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding basketball career as a student-athlete and a coach.

Chevalier has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of student athletes on and off the court. He has enjoyed a successful coaching career as an assistant coach at CSUN, head coach at Cleveland High of Reseda, and a three-year run coaching the girls’ team at Oaks Christian School of Westlake Village before winning a Southern Section championship. In 2010, Chevalier was named head coach of Oaks Christian’s Boys Varsity basketball team and led them to a CIF championship during his first season in 2011. Most recently in 2017 he was named head coach of the Sierra Canyon Boys Varsity team. Chevalier, who holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Cal State Northridge, along with an MS in Educational Administration from National University, has also been the President of the Valley Sports Foundation since 1996. Andre’s plethora of experiences with students, parents, community members, teachers, and administrators have given him the necessary expertise to inspire and help all children achieve success.
